Technical Data Sheet RD-T1174 Glycoluril Crosslinker for powder coatings Description RD-T1174 is a crosslinker with chemical composition of n, n', n", n'''- tetrakismethoxymethyl glycoluril: CAS No: 17464-88-9 This product is, in general, suitable to formulate exterior durable powder coatings along with proper catalysts. Typical properties Appearance [visual] Pale white to yellowish powder Melting point (C) 90-110 OH equivalent weight (g/EQ. ) 90-125 Volatiles (%) ≤ 1.5 Application Crosslinked chemistry of aminoplast with hydroxyl polyester Different film styles depending on different catalysts, such as flat and texture Excellent weather resistant Excellent overbake resistance and anti-yellowing Catalysts In order to achieve desired finishes it is required to use the different catalysts, for example, for wrinkled finishes amine- blocked sulfonic acids are needed. If desired, such catalysts will be available along with RD-T1174. Use levels Mix ratio approx. 94/6 of polyester to RD-T1174. Incorporation and processing Instructions RD-T1174 should be mixed with resin, hardener, pigments and other raw materials in a high-speed mixer and then extruded. Shelf life Based on our experience the shelf life of this product is at least within one year from date of manufacture. For older than this period, it is recommended to re-check the performance. Storage & Notice Store in temperature between 2 and 35 C or cool dry place to avoid wetting-absorption. Keep package closed after using. Handling & Precaution Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
