Mountain bike is a bicycle designed for off-road walking (hilly, trail, field, sand and gravel, etc.). It was born in San Francisco on the West coast of the United States in 1977.

At that time, a group of young people who were keen to ride beach bikes on the hillside had an idea: "It would be fun to fly down the hill on a bicycle."

This led to the design of cross-country bikes, which were officially named mountain bikes two years later.
