Company History
OCL was founded in 1973 by Dr Duncan Mullis at Oxford University with the first manufacturing facility located at Brackley, Northamptonshire, UK.
During 1988 a new 8 acre site was acquired in Hartlepool, Teesside and the site is located on the edge of North Gare part of Teesmouth National Nature Reserve.
The site is within a unique blend of both nature and industry with the company overlooking the Tees Estuary which is home to migratory ducks and waders, the common seals at Seal Sands and a wide variety of invertebrates and plants including marsh orchids. The estuary also provides the focal point for one of the major conglomeration of chemical manufacture within the UK and Europe.
